Bill has been involved in healthcare management for 35 years and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He received his B.S. in Management and Accounting from Samford University in Birmingham and his MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His experience includes work with all sizes of Primary Care and Specialty groups, hospital owned clinic networks and, most recently, as an independent consultant working with medical groups and hospitals of all sizes. He has served as Chair E of the National MGMA Southern Section Leadership Council and is Past President of MGMA Alabama and the Birmingham, Alabama and Shelby, - Chilton County, Alabama local chapters. He has worked with medical societies, payers and other organizations on understanding delivery systems and educating providers on opportunities and challenges in healthcare delivery. In March of 2011 he moved full-time into practice and network / delivery system consulting with his own company, Cockrell and Associates, LLC (now Cockrell, Egeland and Associates, LLC) which works with medical groups and hospitals in areas including planning, operations, delivery models, technology and marketing. In April of Cockrell, Egeland and Associates, LLC came together with MedWorks Imaging, LLC to form PracticeLogic, LLC.
Wendell Gibson has been involved in Medical Management and Diagnostic Medical Imaging Management for 29 years. Prior to forming MedWorks Imaging in 2014, Mr. Gibson co-founded and also currently serves as President and CEO for MedWorks, Inc., a provider of nuclear cardiology and ultrasound/echocardiography diagnostic imaging services designed for physician practices and hospitals. Additionally, he most recently co-founded and served as Chairman of the Board for MedWorks RX, a retail pharmacy development and management company. The company has since been acquired and now operates under the name of Proxsys Rx. Before co-founding and developing the aforementioned privately held companies, Mr. Gibson had comprised a successful career as an Administrative Manager of multiple Magnetic Resonance Imaging facilities local to the Birmingham, AL area. While demonstrating a successful track record in new business development and company start-ups, Mr. Gibson is highly recognized and sought after for his planning, development, and marketing strategies for MRI facilities in competitive market areas.
Katrina Shelton, BA, CPC is a Medical Billing and Coding Consultant at Practice Logic, LLC based in Birmingham, Alabama. She has twenty plus years in practice management implementation, office management and medical billing and coding. In her past employment, she held the title of Director of Ambulatory Accounts at the UAB Callahan Eye Hospital and Directory of Reimbursement and Coding at Cardiovascular Associates, PC.
She received her Business Administration from Coastal Training and is also a Certified Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders.
Katrina lives in Birmingham with her husband Greg and their four children and their seven grandchildren. In her free time, Katrina enjoys swimming, camping and Alabama football.
Brian K. Moore is sales and operations executive with over 20years of experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, Mr. Moore served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Barker Agency, (an insurance retailer). Previous to his role as COO, Mr. Moore has successfully sold both products and services to physician groups, health care systems and hospitals. Mr. Moore worked with ETG, a company selling information technology services to physician practices; DST Health Solutions, a providing information technology services for health insurers, health systems and large physician practices. Mr. Moore is also on the HFMA (Healthcare Financial Managers Association) of Alabama Board of Directors, member of MGMA (Medical Group Managers Association) and has sat on board of advisors at the American Diabetes Association in Alabama. Mr. Moore holds Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN.
Ms. Hanif currently works with many practices on MIPS/MACRA, healthcare compliance, government and commercial payer audits, and practice operations. She assists hospitals, practices, healthplans, business associates, clearinghouses, and other groups in the development of policies and procedures. She is learning new EHR and billing systems for practices in various specialties in order to assist them in reporting Advancing Care Information, Quality, and Clinical Improvement Activities. She actively monitors costs incurred by providers to assist them in justifying those costs through specific diagnosis coding. She is thoroughly versed in the appeals process for ZPIC, MAC, RAC and CERT audits.
